The past is part of the future.

the earliest time

= the most remote past

= the smallest possible time circle

= a point where radius equals zero (r = 0)

= the centre of the time circle

The time t is like the radius r. It makes no sense to ask, “What happened before the beginning of the universe?”

Just as it is not meaningful to ask, “What if r < 0 ?"
