長頸豹 2

這段改編自 2010 年 4 月 10 日的對話。

比喻說，在鬥高的比賽中，我不是最高的長頸鹿；在鬥快的比賽中，我也不是最快的豹。但是，如果要同時鬥高和鬥快，我就很可能是第一，因為，大概只有我這一隻「長頸豹」。

（安：你是在 19 歲時，就想到這個策略，還是那時，只有一個大概的想法？）

只是一個大概，但我有嚴格實行利用。

然後，我那時又有一個相關的想法。我企圖學習和研究那麼多的課題，那又如何呢？

我那時知道，我最喜歡的是物理。亦即是話，即使有時，我的物理知識不及其他知識詳細，例如工程，但是，無論如何，物理也是我知識體系的核心。其他知識，則圍繞著這個核心來運行和累積。
   
當然，我 19 歲時（1999）的這個想法，並沒有我在 26 歲，把它寫成文章時（2006），那麼清晰。

For example, at the end of the video game Dear Esther, the character dies, computer screen turns black, you cease to exist there,

but you wake up and continue to exist outside that video game, outside that computer screen.
