Resistance to the organized mass can be effected only by the man
who is as well organized in his individuality as the mass itself.
–- Carl Jung

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
— George Bernard Shaw

Copyleft

Copyleft type licenses are a novel use of existing copyright law to ensure a work remains freely available.

Creative people are often considered eccentric.
Everyone is creative and eccentric.
We are all unique.
But the vast majority are afraid to let it out.
It’s more accurate to describe so-called creative,
eccentric people as simply less inhibited.

The term self-hosting was coined to refer to the use of a computer program as part of the toolchain or operating system that produces new versions of that same program — for example, a compiler that can compile its own source code.

# Design and Research

.

The difference between design and research seems to be a question of new versus good. Design doesn’t have to be new, but it has to be good. Research doesn’t have to be good, but it has to be new. I think these two paths converge at the top: the best design surpasses its predecessors by using new ideas, and the best research solves problems that are not only new, but actually worth solving. So ultimately we’re aiming for the same destination, just approaching it from different directions.

# Kairos

Kairos is an ancient Greek word meaning the right or opportune moment (the supreme moment). The ancient Greeks had two words for time, chronos and kairos. While the former refers to chronological or sequential time, the latter signifies a time in between, a moment of undetermined period of time in which something special happens. What the special something is depends on who is using the word. While chronos is quantitative, kairos has a qualitative nature.

# Quantum Gravity

Here I would like to propose another possibility, namely that quantum theory will make more sense when regarded as part of a theory of spacetime. Furthermore, I claim that we can only see this from a category-theoretic perspective — in particular, one that de-emphasizes the primary role of the category of sets and functions.

# Zero cost

.

First, the Internet lets anyone find you at almost zero cost. Second, it dramatically speeds up the rate at which reputation spreads by word of mouth. Together these mean that in many fields the rule will be: Build it, and they will come. Make something great and put it online. That is a big change from the recipe for winning in the past century.

你已有廣博的知識，then so what?

Context

What is the main theme of your life?
