Physicist

You should be self-employed.

1. If some experience cannot be learned through self-employing work, work for others for several years first. (I had worked as a teacher for 3 years.)

2. For being a physicist, you have to join a university first, as a postgraduate student or a researcher. I did it by being a master student. And I have applied for UU.

The main point is your teacher and your boss have to be much more intelligent and experienced than you. Otherwise, you cannot learn much.

Start a small business.

Lambda calculus 2

Prehistory

A few decades before modern computers were invented, the mathematician Alonzo Church developed a language called the lambda calculus. He intended it as a tool for investigating the foundations of mathematics. The first person to realize the practical connection between programming and the lambda calculus was John McCarthy, who created Lisp in 1958.

Friends

.

Treat your colleagues as friends. I apply the same basic rules to all my relationships, business and personal. I interact with my bosses and other colleagues exactly the same way I interact with friends. I’m sociable and laid back, I joke around, I’m honest, and if you’re being stupid I’ll let you know. This isn’t just some clever trick I use to make people like me. I just have a lot more fun without the smoke and mirrors that “professionalism” brings. And as a lot of bosses will tell you, it’s a lot harder to fire someone you like.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.’ We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Problem solving (physics)

There are currently some problems that hinder a unified comprehension of Physics. Lee Smolin (in The Trouble with Physics, 2006) has listed 5 major problems:

   1. Combine general relativity and quantum theory into a single theory.
   2. Resolve the problems in the foundations of quantum mechanics.
   3. Determine whether or not the various particles and forces can be unified in a theory that explains them all as manifestations of a single, fundamental entity.
   4. Explain how the values of the free constants in the standard model of particle physics are chosen in nature.
   5. Explain dark matter and dark energy.
